The Devil

I have a big, BIG problem with all those who think that the devil should be done away with. First of all, how would God test our faith if the devil and his dark acts were not there? Secondly, in this world that we live there two things: it's either you are tall or you are short, you are rich or your are poor, etc, etc. And therefore it's either you are good or bad. For us to know what is right we must know what is bad. Now after this short revelation, do you think that the devil unnecessary?
